Hyperboreal Trio was formed in Trondheim in 2023. Signe Emmeluth and Ingebrigt Håker Flaten had played together on many occasions, and after Axel met each of them separately through shared concerts and tours, the three decided to come together for a recording session.

The result is their debut album, set to be released on June 20th, 2025, via the NYC-based label Relative Pitch Records. Ahead of the release, the trio embarked on a pre-release tour in Scandinavia, with concerts in Gothenburg, Trondheim, and Oslo.
