Apparent Entity

Apparent Entity is an experimental duo formed by Gon Muruaga on guitar and Axel Filip on drums and electronics. Together, they explore the boundaries between human and non-human expression through improvisation and the creative use of artificial intelligence.

At the core of the project is a custom-built training model which listens and analyzes the live sounds generated by their instruments during improvisation and later re-enters the performance as an autonomous sonic entity. Rather than merely processing or imitating, the model actively resignifies the input—creating a third voice in the dialogue.

Far from being a passive tool, this artificial presence becomes a dynamic participant: an apparent entity that challenges traditional notions of authorship, control, and collaboration. What does it mean to hear a machine interpret our emotional soundscapes? How does our sonic identity shift when filtered through a non-organic agent?

Through this hybrid interaction, Apparent Entity offers an immersive sonic experience that raises deeper questions about our relationship with technology, the dematerialization of presence, and the philosophical, social, and artistic implications of granting expressive agency to a non-human intelligence.
